Stuck to my guns today and ate on plan even when it seemed like the universe was conspiring against me. I was determined to stick to my low carb day today. When I went out to run errands today, I was so tempted to grab a crunchy taco @ taco bell. It is one of the few things I occasionally allow myself because it is not horrible calorie-wise or on the carbs. But, instead I bought some cashews and a single serving mozzarella stick. It was lower carbs, cheaper and I stayed away from the drive thru.

Then, before I even made it home; hubby calls and says we are expected at a last minute BBQ! Come on, seriously? A family gathering on my lowest carb day of the week's rotation?! I would have said no if it wasn't for the fact that his brother is only going to be here two more days before he goes back to Seattle. The BBQ actually turned out to be ok since there were all kinds of proteins cooked on the grill with only spices. I had a small piece of chicken and one of the center cut pork chops.

Steered completely away from the carbfest sides (mac n cheese, potatoes, corn and baked beans.) Seriously, not a green veggie in sight. Plus, pumpkin pie and watermelon! Three different people asked me to cut the pie. Um, no thanks. I'm staying completely away from the dessert table. Doggone food pushers! I went home and had my salad and got through my lowest carb day of the week with or without the family gathering and food pushers. :)

Normally, I would have just rotated my days and done my lowest carb cycle day on another day. But, it was my last rotation before our vacation and cruise and there was no other way to work it. Plus, it probably helped that the scale showed a new low this morning and that made me more determined to keep on my plan.
