I know I know I know exactly where I screw up
I know exactly what is overwhelming
I know what is scaring me
I know there is a huge wall I have to overcome

If I want to loose my final 6 pounds
If I want to wear that white shirt tucked into a dark pair of jeans
If I want to wear a belt

I cannot find my balance if I don't open that door

Breathe Meeta breathe... It's the same feeling as going underwater

I am talking about food tracking


For my 5% fall challenge which will go into week 2 this Saturday we get points for food tracking
Everywhere I read successs stories the trophy is earned due to food tracking
The only aspect of my journey which I can't get a grip on is food tracking



So far I have tracked the peanut butter , the apple and the soy milk consumed for breakfast.

I am going to go out for lunch with a bunch of girls.....I will make a note of the food consumed by me and track it as I come home... This way I will not be mindlessly eating...also now I am aware that I have very few calories in my quota per day to be consumed....

For dinner I will soak the measured pulses right away
Also I will do my vegetable shopping today as I am realising that's my only saviour if I have to feel full on 1200 cal diet

    It takes time to set up, but I grouped a lot of the meals I eat on a regular basis so it's just one click. I also have a lot of favorites. It's worth the time it takes to get them all set up.

    I am not a fan of tracking either. I think it is because I want to eat more than what I want to write down. This week is going to be good for me as well because this is something that I really need to do. I am definetly more successful when I track.

    As for taking notes when eating out. It is easier to take a picture of what you are eating with your phone then note it in your tracker later. emoticon

    Tracking is no fun but if you don't it is easy to forget something you ate. I try to track even when I'm not eating right. I find if I don't do it as I go and try to go back I honestly forget some things. You can do it. You want that final 6 off. You will be so happy when you make it!

    I haven't tracked in over a year. I would use my tracker on my smart phone whenever I was eating out to make better choices. When I tracked it became easier as I added "Favorites" things that you eat on a regular basis. I also recommend getting the Spark App if you have a smart phone. It use to be free but now I think it's $4. Well I'm with you. After having such a bad weighin this week I will go back to tracking

    It is a tough thing to do. Sometime index cards can get you started. If you track as you eat you can enter in later

    Tracking can be tough but YOU CAN DO IT! And, remember the tracker is not stone. You can change things after you enter!

    Food tracking REALLY helps me. At every meal I think about putting everything in the tracker and it stops me from eating something I shouldn't or an extra helping I don't need.

    Food tracking can be tough. For me, instead of worrying about the overall goal number that day - I just track exactly what I eat. I will look at that number once and see what I could have done better, or see that I hit the goal on the head that day. It actually really helps me to see where healthy choices could help me reach my goals. :)

    I have a love hate relationship with tracking. But, if I track I lose so I give it a good try. If things really get busy I at least keep a running total on paper what I am eating. This way if I get an urge to eat something not so great I can see that I have already done that twice today and maybe I'll make a better choice.

    I am going to experiment with different ways of tracking A day in advance, at the end of the day, writing it down as I eat then transferring it. Looking at doing copies of breakfast and snacks every day. It is such an interesting tool I want to use it better.

    I'm amazed when people can lose weight and don't use the food tracker, since I actually found SP looking for a food tracker!
    It seems daunting at first, but once you get foods in your favorites it goes a bit faster (the tracking).
