Making Strides (no pun intended!)

Thursday, October 17, 2013

Sometimes I get really sucked into numbers. Tonight would be one of those times, lol. But, than again, those same number show me I AM doing a rocking job. I have worked out five days and tracked everyday for the last seven days. The last three days I have stayed in range! emoticon Now tracking doesn't seem like a big deal but it IS! Tracking feels so tedious. But, I am doing it. Because I know Sparkpeople works and this weight has to GO!

Even more so, I am super proud of how much stronger my body is getting. It is simply amazing how it can get stronger with endurance everyday. I think it was August that I started with lunch workouts which gives me 20 minutes to do my workout. In the beginning, those 20 minutes were challenging. Now, those same 20 minutes are easy and I wish I could just keep going and not have to quit. Just the other day I did 40 minutes on the elliptical. A couple months ago, my calves would tire in like 10 minutes. It's just a great feeling!

Right now, I have two memberships (1 paid, 1 free). The free one ends at the end of December so I am strategizing how I am going to consistently get my workout in. I like the idea of becoming a morning workout gal. But, that seems nearly impossible.

I am considering going for a run on my lunch hour on Wednesdays and Fridays. Than, I'd do a pilates at a gym nearby. It's $7.00/class. I could do that once a week. I would have to leave in work out clothes and honestly, I don't know if my boss knows if I work out during lunch. When I first got hired, I asked about taking a hour to work out and he said I'd have to take PTO. I found a way to make it fit into lunch. It's that important!

Anyhow, there's a small update!

Fitting some exercise into the lunch break is great! It makes the afternoon work go better, and it preserves the evening time for whatever else you need to do.

I love your attitude and enthusiasm. It's great to spread activity out throughout the day, keep the metabolism fired up.

You are really rocking it!

It sounds to me as though you are truly supporting your program. That might sound a bit lame as a compliment but honestly it is one of the best ones I can give. This is an essential component to success. Congrats!
