GeoCaching, with pictures.

Since it was cool and not raining today, my mother and I went out in the deep woods to do some treasure hunting (aka GeoCaching). This one took us longer than some of the other ones we normally would do and it was all walking. We had paved trails and tough hills, saw wildlife and a dead snake. We discovered a triathlon area (run, bike, shoot) that was off limits to us and wandered near the golf course. It took us 4 hours and I discovered that my leg is good for about 3 on rough terrain before giving out. I'm glad that it's feeling better, especially since I forgot to put my knee brace on today, oops.
We started out here:
Found a cache up a tree:
Under a tree:
With plenty of mushrooms to see in all sorts of areas:
Plus other beautiful sights to see:
We found many other ones under and in trees with one hiding near a rock. The terrain was rougher than we expected since they told us it was a 1 1/2 stars when we thought it should have been a full 2 with the amount of trees we had to crawl over and raspberries to wander through. I pulled off many seed pods from my jacket when we got back to the car and more when I got home.
We even found one magnetized under a bridge (forgot to take a picture of that one since my husband called me at that moment and I got distracted while climbing back up the hill). All in all, we did well and found all the ones we set out to find and the gps unit had in it (some seem to have not been in the unit when we set out, not sure how that happened).
No matter what, I enjoy spending time with my mom, no matter if it's in a store or hiding deep in the woods and under bridges. It's especially fun when we're in such a beautiful place.
Today's Holidays: Bosses Day, National Dictionary Day and National Liqueur Day.
