My Challenge today

Wednesday, October 16, 2013

We are eating at a Mexican restaurant tonight for a fundraiser for my grandkids new school. SOOO I have to figure out what the heck to order that is not going to blow the calories out of the water! Im not a big fan of Mexican food in the first place, so I usually get something like a chimi but I don't need a calorie book to tell me that is a diet bomb! I looked at the menu already and nothing really popped out as being good for me so Ill settle for not too awful. Maybe I should just start looking at things in the calorie counter. Anybody have any suggestions??? emoticon

So I went to the Mexican restaurant and I ordered a beef fajita taco salad, thinking I would just not eat the shell. So I get the taco salad and I mixed in a little guac and sour cream as I was mixing I noticed there was no lettuce in this "salad"! Just the beef bell peppers and onions! Well ok I guess that wasn't such a smart choice after all. but it was good and I just didn't get as many veggies as I was planning on today. Most importantly I stayed in my calorie range! emoticon But I wouldn't go to that place unless I had to. There are much better Mexican restaurants in town.

BAMAJAM emoticon Yep you got that right! But your suggestion was great. I never eat anywhere near everything but I usually forget to eat leftovers but my hubby , the human garbage disposal, doesn't forget.! Thanks emoticon

You can have three beans on top of a lettuce leaf--- and one teaspoon salsa! LOL
Or you can eat a regular meal and take home half in a go-box.
    Enjoy the event--grandkids are marvelous!!

I am not really a fan of Mexican either, but hubby is.....

I like a taco salad - topped with salsa and resist the shell. A number of places will use either wheat shell or will give less or lower fat cheese as well - ask away!
Just remember to have lots of water! emoticon
