I think I was so excited about getting my new running shoes that I might have forgotten to blog about it. LOL
I went to Sole Sports Running Zone, and I had the best experience ever. The staff member that helped me was so nice, and he spent probably over an hour assisting me with the process of finding the right shoe.
First, we did a quick gait analysis (which I've never done before) where I hopped on a treadmill with a video camera attached to it and ran for a little bit (they filmed the back of my legs/ankles/feet). Then, we went over to the computer and I got to watch the short video and see how I overpronate. Basically, my ankles are rolling in toward the middle every time I touch down, which is not good. Therfore, I need a "stability" shoe.
I also got to run outside to try each pair out on pavement to see how they really feel. We kept trying different pairs and styles until I could settle on the one that felt the best.
He even taught me an alternate way to tie my shoes because I mentioned I don't like them to feel loose around the ankles!
All in all, this was a fabulous experience and I love my new shoes. I would definitely recommend checking this place out, whether you are a pure beginner at running, like I am, or a seasoned runner.
By the way, I named them "Spidey." I know we are going to be BFF's for the next 500 miles!
