Cruising Towards a Heart Attack!

Wednesday, October 16, 2013

So, today I had my annual Nurse's appointment to check me out re. Asthma, pill and to get my flu jab. A simple appointment. Poke, prod, blow through this, stand on the scales and bye!

On some fronts it went well.
2 x asthma blowing tests emoticon
Weight - down emoticon
Flu jab emoticon
Oxygen level - 98% emoticon

Then we seemed to hit wall.
Now you are 50 you must come off the pill. emoticon
You need to see the Dr to discuss your options. emoticon Don't like my Dr so made an appointment with the lady Dr in our practice.
Blood pressure - 160/85 emoticon emoticon emoticon
Well, that needs to come down!!! You don't say!

So, I now have to have two discussions with the Dr and I have 1 week to lower my blood pressure.
No pressure then!

Dh's blood pressure went up with all the salty box foods he used to like to eat. I cook with almost no salt. You might need to look at triggers for High bp and see what might be causing it like soda, lunch meat, processed food etc. DH was surprised on how much salt he takes in. I did manage to help him lower his bp just with minor changes in diet. There might be other causes like the pill. Hope you are doing better. Will try to write blog soon and maybe pics of my area.

    Hey TruckersMrs,

what was your BP at last years tests? With your weight loss, you could expect to see a lower BP than before. If not, then what's stressing you out?

1) a doctor's visit raises BP
2) try meditation, it really has been proven to lower BP
3) keep exercising, that lowers BP

Good luck x

I'm going to fuss with you about your heading..... My belief is, don't say ANYthing you don't want to happen. Only put out into the universe those things you want to be in your future!

Having said that, I'll confess I'm struggling with high blood pressure, too. To that, I say... my weight must come down!

Here's to both of us and our rush toward better health!

P.S. By the way, I thought your description of a doctor's visit was funny. I just got back from the dentist. I guess mine would be: Poke, flap lip, bzzzzz, swallow, bad taste, pay bill, lip the size of a football.
