I went to boot camp as per usual this morning, felt fine, just a bit tired. During the work out however, I started feeling decidedly strange, like I wanted to faint. I eased off my training, fainting isn't what I wanted to do, but still managed to finish with fast walking instead of running etc. I came home and took my blood pressure (compliments of a little home bp monitor my son bought me this month) and it was fine?? So many virus's around these days, it could be anything.
After cleaning up, I was asked to go shopping with my mom, we took books back to the library, generally running around stuff and ended up at a health shop called Travel Bugs and had lunch. My sandwich sounded soooo yummy
but ended up being disappointing.
It was advertised as:
A single slice of rye bread topped with cottage cheese..tuna..pickles..salad and herbed mayo.
I switched out the tuna for chicken because I'm not a shredded, tinned tuna fan. I also asked for plain bread instead of toasted (they offer it either way). My sandwich came and
(a) the chicken was dry to the point of slightly burned
(b) no herbed mayo?
I call the waitress over and remind her about the mayo. She brought me a single serving of plain mayo. I asked where the herb in the mayo was...it turned out to be one teeny weeny piece of fresh coriander perched on top of my sandwich, I needed a magnifying glass to see. The bread was toasted and cut the roof of my mouth
Disappointing lunch and NOT cheap either. Usually you cant fault their food, don't know what went wrong today??
Came home did some cleaning up when suddenly out of the blue, hubby phoned to say if he didn't get out the office RIGHT THEN, he was going to
(a) fire some clients OR
(b) fire some staff.
He came home, I packed some healthy rolls and we took off to the beach with the dogs.
We finally have my sons vehicle to use for the next 10 or so months. The station wagon is a much better vehicle for transporting dogs.....really roomy inside for these two giant breed dogs.
The sea was still very choppy but the weather was superb. Don't know if the choppy water can be from the trouble in the Philippines right now??
It didn't affect us negatively, we still had an absolute blast on the beach.
The dogs had such fun running and jumping up the sand dunes and coming down again.
Up-down, up-down...such energy.
Since I had done boot camp in the morning, Justin did the honors of running all over the beach with the dogs. I just walked and climbed the dunes leisurely and took photo's. He also needed to blow off some steam, so it was as well he did all the running.
This was our dogs first beach trip. We usually head for the mountains or rivers.
At this point we had no idea what they would think of moving water?
I walked out onto a mossy rock and called them over to see how they would handle the rushing water. Jewel proved to be braver than Bronson, but then again she is quite a bit older and that makes a difference. Great dane dogs grow up REALLY slowly and remain babies for quiet a while. Bronson was NOT sure he cared for rushing water.
There were other things on the beach that caught their attention, some were friendly....
Some were not. We were not sure what dangers a jelly fish could offer, but didn't want to try after we had two beloved dogs trap a toad between them a few years ago and both died from the toads venom.
This lonnnng piece of kelp became....
Bronson's newest toy.
Sea snails stuck to the underside of that kelp, wonder if they were eating it?
They'd be healthy little guys if they were
The walk down to the beach is quite steep, which means after an hours walking/running on the beach, you still have the steep climb to get back to your car. After this mornings boot camp, I was finding the going SUPER TOUGH.
Thankfully my two friends were on hand to give me a lift up. Poor things were probably more tired than me, but Im human so I get to be that cheeky.
After this mornings nearly 500 calories burned from boot camp and goodness knows how many calories burned from the hour we spent on the beach.....I will probably sleep like a log tonight, and possibly wake up cripple in the morning. LOL at least there is no boot camp tomorrow and most of my housework is all caught up. With a little good planning, I may get to actually sit and complete some sewing tasks.
My two beaaaautiful fur babies.
Hope everyone has managed to make healthy food and exercise choices today. I'm speaking from my position with my halo all nice and shiny.
