Yep, that just happened, I got engaged. This past weekend the love of my life and best friend proposed to me on top of a mountain. The day in hindsight is pretty funny, I was the only one at his family’s camp who didn’t know that it was going to happen on Saturday. After learning that, I could then start to put together the funny little pieces of information – like the comments that seemed a little off, or the fact that we hike as a group every year and this year it was just the boy and I, his need to borrow a camera from someone for our hike after I forgot ours at home, the sense that something was wrong (I thought he was just tired) prior to the hike, and how strangely fast my boyfriend climbed the mountain we normally stroll up. He did a great job surprising me both with his proposal and the beautiful ring that he choose. He is spectacular, seriously, he is hard-working, kind, committed, strong, loving, adventurous and just an overall decent guy. I have waited 36 years for “the one” and found him. I don’t regret anything leading up to meeting him, including how long it took to meet “Mr. Right”. He is someone that I want to spend my life with, not someone I am settling for. He is someone that wants to spend his life with me, I am not someone he is settling for. It is just right and I am so happy about that. I am looking forward to our “big day” and boy am I motivated now, more then ever before, to get the diet and exercise routine on track. I will feel good and look good on the day I walk down the aisle. I will start our life off on the right foot, healthy and active. It has been so easy today to stick to plan and avoid the things that are not so good for me. Hello motivation, nice to meet you!
