A beautiful fall day in the Upper Peninsula called us to the woods. My husband Jim and I decided it was a great day for walking. Jim chose a trail that he had used last year for hunting.
The colors were spectacular.
Came upon a fork in the road - which way to go? I told Jim that we should take the path to the right since that's the way the ruts were pointing. Lots of steps from the tree roots crossing the path.
Path - doesn't this look inviting. It wasn't too much further on that we met a man walking his dog. I think it was an airdale... he completely ignored us even when we spoke to him. Kind of creepy. It was like we were invisible. Glad it was a public area, but maybe he thought it was his place.
Pond - what a surprise to find this pond. There were some noisy crows cackling away on some land that jutted out onto the pond.
It is so easy for me to see God in His glory with the colors and life surround us. I have always felt that woods and trees and water and mountains draw me closer to His splendor and majesty.
Jim introduced me to wintergreen. I didn't know it was a plant. The berries weren't ripe enough but the leaves had the wintergreen flavor. So cool.
What a glorious time. Have to take these days when you can get them because the snow is looming ahead. But I'll think about that later.
