Fun Fall Traditions

This past weekend I was able to hit up our local apple orchard. There is just something about going to the apple orchard in the fall. Seeing all the crisp apples on the apple trees, the fall colors, the cooler temps, hayrides, etc... It just would not be fall without it!
The above picture features my kids, my nieces and nephews, and my BIL.
We picked apples, laughed, and had some fun! Now I have a full bag of apples to make some yummy recipes with or just eat them plain.
The apple orchard we go to has a corn maze, hay stacks and tires to climb on, playground, farm animals, hayride, pumpkin patch, raspberry picking... etc.... Lots of stuff to do and great photo opportunities! Of course I had my camera aimed and ready!
We also had a lot of fun with football this weekend! My son had his last two games over the weekend. He played on Friday night and ended up winning their game. Then he played in the district championship game on Sunday and his team won first place! It was a great game and an awesome way to end the season. His team worked hard during the season and grew with the game which is always great to see. I loved watching them patting each other on the back while on the sidelines and cheering each other on for the good plays or even the not so good plays. This team was awesome and I am so glad my son was able to be apart of such a great team!
And my oldest played in the pep band this weekend during the Friday night high-school game. They had 8th graders join the band to see what pep band is all about. My son was saying at the beginning that he wasn't going to join the band that he was just trying it out and going for the free pizza. (It is all about food with teenagers!) Well he left after the game telling me that he was joining the pep band and marching band next year and that he had a ton of fun! Love that he changed his mind and pushing aside his other thoughts. Teenagers love changing their minds all the time but I am happy that he is considering it now. Hopefully it will stick when he starts high-school next year.
We finished off the weekend with a nice walk outside at the parks enjoying the fall colors, the sunshine, and taking some nice fall pics of the kids.
What are some of your fall traditions? Do anything fun this past weekend?
