emoticon I finally finished my 207-mile walk to Subiaco Abbey. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Today I walked the last 7.85 miles in my virtual walk to Subiaco. I was making great time this morning until I got pulled over by the cops. It seems that someone called in a false report that I was walking down the middle of the highway during the time when people were rushing to get to work. The caller said that they had driven slowly alongside me to make sure I was "ok."

I couldn't believe my ears! I told the cop, "That's just crazy! Why in the world would I be walking in the middle of the highway when I have been working up to this 8-mile walk for months?" He had seen me walking in the grass several feet off the highway when he came by me. He turned around and came back to talk to me. Needless to say, he believed me rather than the caller, but I hope they got the caller's name and number and charge them with making a false report!

I ended up walking 8.6 miles today just to make sure that I walked far enough to reach my goal. Therefore, I have .75 miles to add to the log for my next virtual walk.

Here is the final tally of all the miles I walked:

4/29/2013: 207 - 2 = 205 (I wonder how much thinner and healthier I will be when I finally arrive?)
5/07/2013: 205 - 2 = 203 (I'm back from out of state and back on my virtual party trip.)

5/11/2013: 201 - 1.6 = 199.4 (Big dogs loose on property at corner; didn't want to go near them to finish 2 miles and don't know the mile markers to make it up if I walk the opposite direction)
