What was the best part of your day today?


The best part of my day was the nap I took. Yep, it was that kind of day...

I made a mess of my weekend. It was Xander's third birthday and a few family members joined us for cake and snacks. The food was just too much of a temptation and I overindulged... letting myself eat until I was bloated and drink soda.

I had set my sights on a great day today, but I just couldn't find it in myself. I just continued the bad habits of my weekend. Not only did I overeat again, but I ate high-fat, processed crap. Even now, I'm sitting here thinking how much I would love a dish of ice cream.

I hope that tomorrow will be a better day.

Having a cheat meal is not a bad thing.

I still enjoy the foods I used to eat but now I make more of an effort to eat healthier foods. For example, in the same day, I might snack on potato chips and cookies, while earlier I had apples and oatmeal for lunch. Then, I'd drink lots of water.

This weightloss journey works for everyone in different ways.
You're doing a good job so far, so hang in there!

    The fact that you can look back and say "I did ....... wrong" is a good thing because it means that you acknowledge the good habits from the bad so now you can choose to move on from them. Ice cream is also a HUGE temptation for me so I just don't buy any and if I do, I take 1 or 2 servings and then leave it at my mom's house for them to eat. I find that keeping tempting foods around me that are my absolute favorites are my dieting traps. So, I just don't bring them into the house. Of course, I made the mistake of bringing in egg nog this last weekend, but I made the fiance drink the majority of it. He was so sad about that ;-).

Take each day as a new opportunity to make the best choices for you. (I personally believe that a "free day" every now and then doesn't hurt either.)

    Looking at what you did wrong and feeling guilt and remorse is much easier than looking at the triggers. I'd suggest the next time this comes up to sit and write about what you are thinking / how you are feeling. Then just look at it with a gentle smile. Forego the actions that perpetuate the personal pattern.

    I took a good nap too. was a bit sleep afterward, but i still went outside and did about 25 minutes of yard work. later i did some cardio kickboxing. so 1 good part of my day gave me energy for 2 more.
