Night one and the cheese is calling... (Week 1.1)

Ugh. This is hard.

I am blogging right now for one purpose...
...to help me stay away from the fridge!

I have realized that a big component of my goal is going to be cutting out my after dinner snacks. I love cheese. It goes so well with my wine.

There are multiple sensory experiences with eating. Obviously, the mouth... that one is self-explanatory. But there are also smells, visual enjoyment, and what the hands are doing.

I am trying to occupy my hands.

I think I'll play solitaire while I watch tv.

    I wish I had some great advice, but as late-night snacking is also one of my biggest downfalls, all I can offer you is empathy. Good luck staying away from that cheese!

    How to occupy one's hands:
    knitting
    crocheting>
    macramé
    organizing photos
    organizing recipes
    doing Christmas lists/cards

    Controlling night time eating:
    Drink water
    Break connections so if you usually drink wine while eating cheese, don't drink wine.
    Build new connections. Have other healthy snacks ready to go - raw veggies with a low cal dip.

    Good plan to keep your hands busy. As for your mouth....uh, is Bo home? emoticon emoticon

    That's my solution for ya! emoticon There once was a diet mantra called "Reach for you mate, instead of your plate." That didn't last long, for us! LOL!
