Weekend Review (2) Sugary Treats Everywhere!

What! Another weekend gone again! Oh, bother! You know there just never seems to be enough time to get stuff done. I was aching all over Saturday and just didn't know why. Could have been the sugar and wheat from the apple dumpling I ate Friday evening. SIL brought DH and I each one. It was too tempting to just leave alone and I had not had an apple dumpling in such a l- o-o-o-o-n-g time. So, maybe my pay was the pain the next day. I travelled with DH to the saw repair shop and just felt like not even moving! We had a light supper and I needed to start getting ready for the DD and family to come for Sunday dinner. I baked some banana bread -- w/o sugar and gluten free. It definitely did not taste sweet like cake. It really was like a bread. We had some while it was still warm with butter on. DH had two. When Sunday came, I was not aching as much. Thank God for that! We had chicken done in Progresso mushroom soup for lunch with mashed potatoes and the mushroom soup for gravy. Carrots on the side with a wee bit of coconut oil, cinnamon, and some hazelnut flavored sweetner (sugar free). A large tossed salad with choice of dressings for everyone. My little princess, Rachel, chose not to eat salad. It was finished up in a short time. Then . . .

DD brought out a bumbleberry pie for dessert! Did I eat some? Yes, I did! It was a small pie cut into eight slices. Off to DD's house to watch some telly while guys stayed here to watch football game. Sweets all done for the weekend? Oh, no, not yet! Came home and saw one slice of pie left. That was my supper!

Sunday PM fellowship at church. Pastor's wife brought gluten free cookies and lemon cupcakes and had decaf coffee made. Did I eat some? Oh, yes, I did! Two GF PB cookies and a bite from DH's lemon cupcake, w/icing! Ooooohhhhhh! It was good, but I only had that one bite of cupcake. I asked DH to get me a half cup of coffee when he got up to get some more coffee, and the blessed dear came back with another cookie for me. Oh, for Pete's sake! I didn't have to eat it, but I did! emoticon

After today, two fellas are gonna be joining me for meals this week. Mr Will Power and Mr R U Sure ( you want that?) Hoping Sister Temptation and Aunt Sweet Tooth don't show up at all!

    You brought a good point to my attention: there are going to be things that I haven't had in a long time when I go on vacation. I'd better prepare.

    We have to eat things we know that is not good for us at times. I have to stay away from apple fritters. I can sit & eat 2 or 3 of them & then I pay for it the next day. I really hope you enjoyed all the sweets.

    Since I have joined the 5% challenge for fall, I got rid of all the sugary treats in my house. Now instead of apple pie, I stew apples with a touch of splenda and lots of cinnamon. Fresh fruit satisfies me when I get off sugars.

    emoticon I ate lots of sugar on Friday night and woke up through out the night with horrible leg pains!
