It's only mid October and my food allotment money is used up but I found sales, and spent a week going about buying essential foods for the next few months, and individually wrapping them, labeling with the portion size so that I can plan daily meals on the food tracker and be very accountable for my food intake. I bought 3 lbs. nuts and seeds for the winter to use sparingly. I've placed them in mason jars and labeled them. I also bought grains, seeds, etc. and keep them in the freezer due to pantry moths. I don't get them if the grains are stored in freezer.

There is NOTHING in this house that is a sabatoge food, a temptation, a cheat. There are no comfort foods. I'm still not losing weight. I asked the doctor for water pills as my HBP is still not being controlled with Norvasc. My weight fluctuates 5 lbs. a day from morning til night. That is why I don't enter competitions on The 50 Pound Challenge team.

My primary Care giver is, at times an incompetent doctor because his office staff makes many mistakes recording patient information. He keeps a young staff. The office had me under TWO accounts under two different names. They did not enter into the computer that I was on cholesterol lowering meds as if August. They don't know how to take blood pressure readings. My doctor had no idea I was on Lipitor as it wasn't charted. When I had to tell him I needed a blood test in two weeks for cholesterol he was confused. He said according to your patient history you were on Crestor a few years, ago. Who put you on Lipitor? I said, YOU DID in AUGUST.

My chart also states my BP is consistently 120/70 or 130/80, but its over 150/80 and that's being on the new meds since the summer. My doctor is embarassed as he should be. I DEMAND that HE take my blood pressure readings. But last time I was there he walked out of the room and didn't come back to take a reading. I had TWO girls do it and I knew both were inaccurate. I had to make another appointment TWO WEEKS later just to see him, again, so he could take the reading. I asked him to review my BP history on my computer chart and it all indicated I was FINE. I told him I'm not fine and his girls don't know how to take accurate readings. He took it and it was 156/86 and I'm on 5 mg. meds. So I stated the meds aren't working. He wanted to increase it to 10 mg. I asked for water pills. So now instead of peeing all week, my weight has gone up 4 lbs. I need to observe, write notes, keep track of my food, and monitor myself.

Be your own advocate. Speak up. Demand more time & professional service. Keep your own records. Ask for copies of your lab tests. Learn how to take your own BP readings. Stay on top of your own health. Lose weight. Eat right. You are what you eat.
