thank you, everyone. your support and especially suggestions for things to try to attempt to keep the emotional eating to a minimum were so helpful. it is so heartwarming to know that there are people who care who don't even know us. you have helped more than you can ever know. i appreciate your caring.

    Anytime. Losing an animal after so many years can feel similar to losing a child.
