Ohana....(54 days left)

One of my favorite scenes in Lilo & Stitch.

I moved away from all of my family in 2001, for reasons too long to go into here. The last time I came home to visit was 2006. That was the year that both my dad and my grandma died. I finally moved back in February of this year....and I am so glad I did. I missed my family and it was time to come home.
I still don't get to see them as often as I would like but my sister that I am living with lends me her car quite often.

We spent the day with some of my family for my niece's baby shower today, she only has a couple months to go and I am so excited for her!

Short blog tonight because I am dog tired, up late last night and up very early this morning, hour drive each way and we also went early to help set up and stayed after to help clean up. I got exercise in by making trips up and down the stairs to the car, setting up tables and cleaning up afterwards. I ate pretty decently today too! I didn't overdo anything like I used to do at a get-together. I am so emotionally relaxed. It was a good day.

I'll leave you tonight with a couple of pics of the blanket I made along with the diaper babies. The blanket is made from super soft and super thick yarn so it can be used as a floor cover when he gets bigger too.
I put everything in a pretty basket and addedextra diapers, plastic pants (she is using cloth diapers), pins, and the best sleepytime stuff ever....lavender wash and lavender lotion. That stuff after a nice warm bath makes a baby sleep like...well...a baby, lol!

I'm thankful for my family, both by blood and chosen family.

I live far away from my family (~500 miles. 8 hour drive) and I miss them terribly, especially as the holidays come.
