today we celebrated my father in law's 85th birthday. the last living of 10 children born of hearty Norwegian stock. It was good to gather together with 4 generations to honour this man who has instilled a legacy of faith, clean living and hard work. Even amongst the in-laws, there are no outlaws. The only downfall of time spent together is the food, there is always an abundance, no of it low calorie, but all made with love. Fortunately, no one takes offense if a dish is passed over. Memories are made with love and laughter.
Today I took time to walk- >10000 steps and counting, it is only 8 pm. My son brought his skateboard along, so while he enjoyed the skatepark, I used the high school track for 2k, in the afternoon I walked the 4 k loop from my inlaws to downtown and back.
Tomorrow is Canadian Thanksgiving, we all reconvene out at the farm for turkey with all the trimmings. I know I won't get as much walking in there because we also have a 3.5 hour drive home and then I have to be at work by 11. One advantage of being away for Thanksgiving is not having to deal with the leftovers. One downside, no turkey soup- guess, I'll have to roast a turkey breast later and make do.

until we eat again dear friends, Happy Thanksgiving!

How lovely to be able to gather so!
Of the generation before me, I have only one aunt left on my father's side, and one on my first husband's side. That's why I treasure my fiancÚ's parents so! But it won't be long before I become the older generation! My oldest granddaughter is 11...so I still have to wait a while before being a GREAT grandparent.
Happy thanksgiving - I know you have much for which to be thankful!
