Confessions of a Lazy Person

Sunday, October 13, 2013

I was just rereading my last blog entry, about the tomatoes, and it really ties in with one of my closet deficits: I AM LAZY. I don't look lazy, or act lazy; I have a hard job and work overtime and I generally keep the house clean and keep up with my magician husband on the weekends, I am deeply involved in church leadership AND I'm writing a novel.

But those are big things. It's the little things that I sweep under the carpet.

For instance, I've been on SparkPeople for FOUR YEARS. Have I finished my Fast Break Goals? No...that means tracking my water and getting 10 minutes of exercise a day (instead of the 45-60 minutes, four days a week) and, goodness, writing in a journal every day. Four years, and I haven't had the discipline for the simple things, the bitty little streaks that make this program work.

So today, I've decided to finish those Fast Break Goals and move on to the next Spark People phase. Who knows, maybe that will end the plateau.

Sometimes just trying something new (either in writing or in life) is the perfect way to break through a block or a plateau. Good luck!
