After getting on the scale this morning I am now 15 pounds lighter!!
I thought I would be a bit more excited, but sadly I'm not... 15 pounds seems like a lot to me, yet my clothes are still fitting the same, so I'm feeling a bit discouraged but I know I shouldn't be. Looking at the big picture 15 pounds is only a 7% loss, but it's 30% of the weight that I want to lose so, 15 pounds is a great accomplishment and I should be proud!
Over the past couple of months I have been more "in tune" to what I eat and 2 weeks ago I added a good amount of exercise, so I feel like I've only been working hard to lose the weight for 2 weeks. In the past 4 years wanting to lose weight but instead gaining more, I have only been motivated to stick to a routine of working out for 2 weeks, and then I get bored.... Looking back at my spark streaks I once did at least 90 minutes of fitness for 3 weeks straight. I'm praying that I stay motivated!! I still have a long journey ahead of me.
I do feel that this time is different though because I started by just changing my eating habits and making sure that I only got 240 fitness minutes in a month. In the past I tried to change everything at once and kept falling on my face. I feel that if I can stick to it for the month of October I will have formed better habits and it will be easier to stick to it!!
My first goal was to be 185 by October 27th and with today's weigh in at 186 I am ahead of my original plan, which is wonderful! I said when I reach 180 I would treat myself to a haircut so a couple more weeks to go and I should be there! I set this reward on January 1st but like usual had given up on the weight loss and gained 3 lbs, but I haven't allowed myself to get a haircut so I am LONG overdue!! I've stuck with the skinny jeans challenge and have successfully completed everyday so far, so I am proud of that. After I complete that challenge I am going to try the 30 day boot camp challenge again. I think the first time I tried I didn't even complete the first week. I am feeling stronger!
I have been using my stationary bike six days a week as my cardio and I know that I need to mix it up a bit but I feel so comfortable there. I have a treadmill and want to start a program like Couch to 5k again, but I'm honestly being lazy... I've been using Jillian Michael's "No More Trouble Zones" for my strength training every other day, but only a few circuits at a time. Yesterday I did 4 circuits in a row which is the most I have ever done so I am making progress. My goal is to be able to do all of the circuits at 1 time. I'm aiming to reach that goal by Thanksgiving!
