Had a dangerous eating week, but Weight Watchers pulled through!

With Weight Watchers (WW), you get Daily Points and Weekly Points. You are more than welcome to use every single point from the Daily and Weekly categories, but WW highly recommends you get in at least the minimum of the Daily Points every day. How much of the Weeklies you use is up to you. Well, you know how it is when you first start your diet and enthusiasm is high! The first four weeks, I didn't use that many of my Weeklies, mainly just my Dailies. This week completely blew that and I was worried ...

All was as usual until Wednesday when I needed to travel out of town to deal with a stressful matter with my son in another state. We ate lunch at our favorite restaurant after our mission was over. Thankfully, they had plenty of healthy items on their menu for the entrée. It was the temptation of dessert that hooked me! I used a bunch of my Weeklies on a trio of Crème Brulee samplers (vanilla, pumpkin, and gingerbread -- yummy!). Then yesterday, my kids and I went to a local fall festival. I decided to eat a HUGE low-point breakfast and lunch that morning, so I could split a funnel cake with my daughter. It was a good plan and all the points worked out great. By the time this week was officially over at midnight last night, I was down to 1 Daily Point left and ZERO Weeklies.

Sooo ... I was super anxious about weighing in this morning. WW is still new enough to me and has been so easy to follow without feeling deprived, that I feel uncertain just before each weigh in. To my surprise, even after eating crème brulee and funnel cake this week, I lost a pound! I'm thrilled! Weeks of eating like this are unusual for me up to this point, but with the holidays coming up, I guess it's good practice.

  I think I'm going to try to use as little of those Weeklies as possible, too, just because I do think the weight loss is higher when I do. It sure is nice to know they are there, though!

I totally understand your nervousness at the scale! I've been at WW just a couple of weeks and I had a similar situation --- ate those weekly pts and just felt a little bloated so-to-speak ---- but I still lost 1/2 pound and even though that's not as much as I would have liked --- it was still a loss and I think I'm going to steer clear of eating many of those weeklies unless it becomes totally necessary! The foods I ate using the weeklies was convenient type food/restaurant food which I know is higher in salt and just not as healthy as when I prepare things at home.

Bottom line is --- we lived through it and came out losers! the good kind of losers!!! yay and woohoo!
