Quick update

Sunday, October 13, 2013

I need to get to bed, it's late and we are heading to meet up with some friends in the morning.

I just wanted to put it in writing that I went for a walk 6 of 6 days this week. I did 1.12 miles Mon-Fri and then 2 miles today. It was pretty chilly, and the baby got cold and tired of the walk by the end, but she was a trooper. It was a nice family walk today.

I've done reasonably well with following menus as well. We have eaten out one meal this week. I try to allow for the wiggle room to do that. It was not a "I'm lazy" excuse though. Some good friends of ours have a 9 year old daughter that has relapsed with her cancer and going through chemo again. Her mom got pneumonia so she and the new baby (7 weeks) had to leave the hospital. I was running errands and asked if she needed anything. She needed company. So Abigail and I went to keep her company. I figured, she has been on antibiotics for a 24 hours, and its pneumonia. I'm not likely to get it, nor is Abigail if she doesn't hold her. So we were there for several hours. By the time we left, there wasn't time for me cook anything I had planned. They all needed a bit more prep work than I had accomplished. For visiting a friend in her time of need, I'll give myself the pass and be ok with eating out. I didn't make amazing choices, but not totally crappy either.

Anyway, tomorrow I will assess my goals for next week and try to get them up soon.
