I started out strong with my Sept challenge goals, but let life get in the way.
The whole point of our SparkJourneys is to learn how to CHANGE that too-often story. To learn HOW to make these changes a LIFESTYLE, not a 3-step dance: Begin, move, and end.
So what am I going to do? I'm going to reboot. I'm going to make an October challenge for myself.
So what if it's past Oct 1st. You can push the restart button ANY time; don't wait til Monday. That's a cop out. That means you don't REALLY want to do it. Don't wait til January 1st. TOMORROW, can be your January 1st.
Think of the physical fitness improvement and the weight we can lose by Jan 1st, if we start now. So don't wait. Don't wait til Nov 1st or Jan 1st. NOW is the time to make a committment and begin again. Use what you learned in your past attempts. Analyze: what worked, what didn't, how did you get derailed, what are plans A, B, C, D, and E to prevent derail this time?
Remember what it is you REALLY want. That cookie, or seconds, or junk food, or the buffet, or drive through, or eating whatever and how much you want, is NOT it. You want a healthy body and spirit more. Have you ever noticed, when you are eating clean and exercising, how much easier it is to connect spiritually? Remind yourself; remember what it is that you REALLY want. Self discipline is simply remembering what it is that you REALLY want (and that that cookie or fill-in-the-blank-food, is NOT it).
Pick yourself up and dust yourself off.
Re-focus on your goal.
Make a full, whole-hearted committment to the daily changes, time, and effort that the goal requires.
Admire yourself for the courage to begin again.
And then BEGIN.
