Man, coughing, sneezing...geez

Saturday, October 12, 2013

I was just sitting here thinking that I don't even remember the last time I had a cold. I don't get them in Mexico...guess because I am outside in the sun so much. So it's been over 8 years since I had something like this. Today I have hardly any voice so hard to talk to the grandkids. Lucky for me they have a birthday party to go to so I can nap. I must have a sinus infection as the sinus area feels like it wants to explode. I am not taking anything as I am afraid to do so with taking all the autoimmune meds. So I am just trying to tough it out. I sure wish I could take something for the pain in my face. Anybody got any ideas?

I am drinking lots of fluids. and coughing and sneezing into a paper towel so I don't get the kids sick. I have hand sanitizer on every table so we are all using it.

Good news is that the Husky football game is on TV here today so I can cuddle up and watch it.

Hope you all are doing better than me.
Have a wonderful Saturday.

So sorry you got a cold :(( You must have come in contact with someone who was sick :( If your nose isn't plugged a Netti pot would work, but if it is blocked, the water won't go through and its best to have a bowl of hot water and put a towel over your head and bowl and steam yourself, but being careful not to burn.
Good for you trying to keep it from spreading.

Sallie go to local pharmacy & over the counter get a netti pot it already has the packets of solutions, plus a large box of tissues . Do exactly what it says with tilting your head not to far back & you will not believe the gunk that will come out. I love nine when my sinuses act up I do not get colds but if I did I would use this, I know it sure relieves the pressure in my sinuses.

Be sure to boil the water first if you're going to use Neti or any water up your nose. LOL

Steam could help loosen things up. I like the way a good amount of fresh ginger in my celery apple lemon juice clears me up! Not sure if that exact thing is an option for you but you could get some lemon echinacea tea, or any tea with lemon and fresh ginger chopped up added right to your tea. You know me I do as many natural remedies as I can. Including chopping up garlic and swallowing it like pills three times a day over taking any antibiotic.
Also I like having the supplement Airborne tablets for everyone to take around the house as they have a good combination of things to help. I usually get them at Costco since we use them a lot this time of year.
I really hope you find something to help give you some relief.

Yup . . . Neti Pot it is! Gargle with salt water. Hot liquids. Ice bag or cold face mask around the eyes.

    Hope you feel better.

PMFISH beat me to it! I was going to suggest the Neti, but there are also sinus washes out there that do the same thing. Check out the pharmacy. emoticon

Get yourself a Neti pot and clean out your sinuses with salt water. Think that will make you feel better. Enjoy your game and get well soon.
