A Day of Waterfalls in the Columbia Gorge

Friday, October 11, 2013

The leaves are changing color here, and my husband wanted us to take a drive up the Columbia Gorge to look at leaves and waterfalls.

It took us most of the day to stop at many viewpoints along the Columbia River Gorge including The Women's Forum Overlook and Crown Point. We hiked trails to and up some of the falls. My fitbit says I took 13,636 steps and climbed 48 flights of stairs so far today.

Here is the lower of the Latourell Falls. It is hard to see it all in the photo. It angles off to the right at the bottom of the photo.

This one is Bridal Veil Falls. Can you see how it got it's name?

This one is Wahkeena Falls, but it is only the top part taken from the bridge halfway up.

Here is our best known waterfall... Multnomah Falls. It never fails to impress visitors.

This one is called Horsetail Falls.

It was a lovely day. All that fresh air will help me sleep well tonight, I think!
