But I want to help!

Friday, October 11, 2013

Here, lately, I've been told that I'm getting in over my head when it comes to wanting to help, support, and encourage others. But helping you helps me to help myself, so it's a win-win situation! I love coming online and seeing that I have messages or posts from other members here. It makes me feel like I'm valued, and like I finally belong someplace. Is this selfish of me to think this way? But I truly want to help you, and make you feel happy and motivated, too! I know firsthand how hard it is to lose weight and get healthier. Some years ago I lost 160 pounds here on SparkPeople, but have since gained back 100 of it, so trust me, I know it's hard! So, may I help you? Could we, perhaps, help each other?

I think it is wonderful that you want to help people Teresa, I know that I sure could us the help to lose the weight. I need to lose it so bad and I started and was doing so good for a while but lost the fight again, now I need to get motivated again. I find it so hard sometimes. It makes it so hard that I don't have the support of my DH all the time.

If God has put it in your heart to help others, how can it be wrong? And if God is blessing you by putting people in your life who want to support and love you too,
    isn't that just wonderful ?

I'm so happy to know you. You are a darling woman. I am happy you are my friend.

    Love, Ginger

I know I do spend a lot more time on sparkpeople than I should and I'm sure my husband must wish I spent less but it is up to me to set limits and I enjoy it. It's a great place to belong.

you are tons of valuable help to me and to our Weight For God Team! You are involved and that equates weight loss success!!! By helping others you are helping yourself! No, it is not selfish in the least bit and I am sure that the person that said the remark to you that you are getting in over your head, surely didn't mean it in a bad way! I sure hope they didn't! We need you! We need the knowledge that you have! And hey, at least you didn't gain all of the weight back and here you are again! This time all the wiser and ready to know what to do to hit those goals! We got this! Just a matter of time and numbers! That is it!
