Feeling Good

Friday, October 11, 2013

So, since my last post, I have been working my way through the SP walk/jog 5K program, the 100 pushups challenge, and doing various weight training and fun exercises. I have a weekly weigh-in every Tuesday, since that's the day I work at the YMCA and I know I will be around the same scale. I was very excited this past Tuesday to be under 140 pounds. :) Not a lot under, but still closer to my initial goal of 130. (After which I will allow myself to buy a new gym bag, since mine is ripping everywhere.)

And how is the running going? In my opinion, amazingly. I have done several walk to run programs to try to get to a 5k level before, but I always have not been consistent, get discouraged, and then give up on them. I just did the first day of the fourth week of the SP walk/jog 5k program, and I am so excited and motivated for my running. Today I did 2.3 miles in 27 minutes. Not an amazing time, but I did the entire workout. After an 8 hour shift at work last night. It feels so great to stick it out and feel like I've accomplished something. On October 19th, Josh and I plan to run a 5K in Troy, NY. It will serve as the final workout in the program. I am so excited. (And not just because you get a pint glass for finishing this race and support the local 9/11 memorial.)
