When I was heavy (I realize I've still got a ways to go...) it was so hard to go clothes shopping because I had to shop in the plus sizes. That in itself was depressing. April of last year we went to Texas on vacation, and just before we left I had to go buy some new shorts because I had once again outgrown the ones I had worn the previous summer. I was wearing a size 20! My first short-term goal was to get out of the plus sizes, the biggest 'average' size is a 16. Then as I had more success my number got smaller and smaller. And my newest goal was to be in a size 10 by the time shorts season came around this year. Although I haven't braved the shorts sections yet, I bought myself a pair of capris today that are a size 12. I realize that's still big by most people's standards, but it felt so good to put them on and they actually FIT! My weight loss has slowed, but now that the nice weather is back, I'm ready to hit the running trails again. I've been good about going to the gym, but it's just not the same as running outdoors. So, I am certain that by the time I'm ready for my first pair of shorts, I will easily wiggle into those 10's!
