I promised myself that I'd try jogging again when my back felt good enough. I should have started over the summer but then we moved. So I swore I'd start after Labor Day and that I'd lose 10-20 lbs before doing it. But I've been overeating. I'm not sticking to a diet or even healthy eating. But I set a deadline of doing a specific run in December and I'm out of time.
So, last night rather than going to the gym just to swim, I spent 25 minutes on the indoor track and completed Couch 25k week 1 day 1. My wog was barely faster than my slow walking shuffle but I did it. Then I swam for 35 minutes. My legs kept trying to cramp on me so I swam slower than usual but I wanted to get my arms worked out. When I got out of the pool I felt as though my weight had doubled, my legs were so tired.
I did extra stretching in the hot tub. I iced my feet when I got home. I stretched before sleeping and I have to say, my feet and legs have hurt worse in the morning.
So now comes the big question: will I manage to repeat this performance any time soon?
