Attempt #565....

Thursday, October 10, 2013

Yanked my big girl panties up this morning and got serious again. For the sixty-leventh time. Went for a good walk, been tracking religiously. I need to see if I can shift weight being very strict with calories. Maintenance calories for me seems to be weight loss calories for anyone else, if that makes sense. Life has tipped over the line from "crazy" into "emotionally stressful" and I seem to derive a lot of comfort when I can track and plan. Nothing horrible has happened, just a few things my brain needs to process.

My Fitbit always needs rebooting to sync properly and I noticed yesterday and several days previous it had me at some ridiculous calorie burn - something just under 5,000 calories. Now, I sat on my butt for two days and worked on a quilt....who knew quilting was such good exersise! ;)

And now, simply because I know everyone wants to see more photos of my foster babies....here's one from a couple days ago that shows his wee possum paws. Those paws are soooo dang cute holding the edges of the bowl as they lap up their milk!

Possums are social creatures. They will not settle in to sleep til all four are in the pouch and snuggled up. Last night one wandered away from the group and got himself spooked. I took the other three to their cage - two fell on the bottlebrush and began nibbling - Rosie (my favorite...she is a beautiful red-brown color and has a very sweet disposition) would NOT go into the cage. She rode on my shoulder while we coaxed the little spooked one out from behind the desk, scooped him up and took him to the cage. Then she was quite happy to settle in with the others. And that reminds me of another interesting photo....a possums' tail is just like another limb.

I can relate about the low calories requirements in maintenance. I need to stay really straight and narrow. Those are the metabolic breaks.

Tracking and exercise can get you through stressful times!

Lovely little critters. You seem to have a knack about understanding them.

About your fitbit. I have the One and don't know which one you use. Perhaps posting this issue on the team would help.
