Family comes first

Thursday, October 10, 2013

My crazy update - It's a funny thing I confess, but every evening this week...instead of heading to the gym to train, and keep within my fitness plan, I was needed by a family member. At first, I admit that I balked at the change in my plans....and when the 3rd consecutive day arrived where I missed "fitness", I sat back and did a self-inventory look at "life". emoticon emoticon

Truthfully, I don't regret a single opportunity that came up...I am glad my DD wanted to learn to bake sugar cutout cookies with icing decor for a class assignment, and my sister who is ill needed me to help her ( was SO delighted to help her any day/any time ) DH worked extra late every night, & my son had a 24 hour bug....Lol.... emoticon
Let's see now, . . . . I think that might be all.... Oh no! wait - my DH planned a last minute date with me and THAT was grand! emoticonI'll take that anytime.

I just bet some of you can identify with this bizarre array of events. emoticon Just so you know - I throw "steady and structure" to the wind when it comes to my family....they are the LOVES of my life. I am delighted to be needed. I know that for the most part, I am able to carve out time for myself and the gym. This week was a CrAzY one though.

Here I am just 2 days from my emoticon , and I am not prepared the way I want to be. Oh well. . .
My view is - I will have F.U.N., let loose and enjoy the craziness of the style of 5K race ( being chased by zombies and monsters ) embracing the opportunity!!

By now, as you might imagine, I am rarin' to GO! emoticon emoticon My legs esp feel like they MUST run!
So, tonight I have a run planned....we shall see if I can keep that fitness date. emoticon my fingers are crossed.

Hope to report a fantastic run later on my FEED. emoticon

Family is definitely a priority. We watch our nutrition carefully, picking back up on our training as soon as we can, focusing on that delicate balance. It's all good, Laura!

Laura, I so admire the way you handle your attitude when family gets in the way of "me".....What a great wife and Mom you are! I struggled with this a lot when my boys were is a fine (and FUN) art to get just the right balance! Have a great run! You are emoticon

Indeed family comes first! The feeling of being wanted by the family is great! We are so involved with them that is a pleasure to being with them and assisting in their needs.

However, it is easy to forget our own needs. Exercise as it is, is last on most peoples' minds and first to go if something else comes along. You seem to want to keep up with the fitness plan though. So it will be easy for you to get back into it. Good that you were there for the people who needed you when they needed you and now you would be back at the "run". Hope you have a good one!

Have a fab race!!! Enjoy and don't stress about it.
I do hope you get it a run today, though, just to loosen up the legs.
