Week 3 of Maintenance

Thursday, October 10, 2013

So today marks the beginning of Week 3 of Maintenance. I was afraid my eating was getting out of control, but weigh-in today showed me those wonderful numbers: "153". Yes!

Maintenance isn't easy, I'll tell you that. Or, I should say, it's a whole different ball of wax than losing weight. And it feels strange, being in Maintenance. Every other time I lost weight, I never made my final weight loss goals, so I never GOT into Maintenance. Instead, I backslid and then reacquired all my old, nasty habits.

I'm still eating regular meals, approx 2 - 3 hours apart. This is what a typical day looks like for me, food wise:

Yoplait Light Yogurt with Walnuts and Wheat Bran

MediFast Mocha Shake (I'm weaning myself off of these - my pocketbook will be SO GRATEFUL!)

Half Sandwich (Mediterranean, which has Tomato, Mozzarella, light olive oil, Basil on wheat)
Soup (tomato basil) or Salad (dressing on the side)

Post-Lunch Snack:
MediFast bar (because I'm revolting against the shakes)

I'm REALLY addicted to the Greek Salad - spinach, cucumbers, feta, kalamata olives, walnuts. YUMMY.
I've also started having chips (one serving!) and hummus. It's SO GOOD to eat hummus again.

I'm making mini-muffins from my MediFast softbakes. I'll add some coolwhip or last night I added a touch of Nutella. YUM.

And of course, LOTS and LOTS of water!

My weekly exercise regime looks like this:

Sunday: Break or weights with my aunt
Monday: Running
Tuesday: Spin Class
Wednesday: Running
Thursday: Yoga
Friday: Zumba
Saturday: Spin Class in the morning, if I can; otherwise, break day

Other fun tidbits: I've signed up for my SECOND 5K!! And last night, I broke my previous running time on the treadmill and clocked in at 33:46 - a full minute faster than my 1st 5K!

I look back over this week, and I'm like, "Yeah, life is great." Overall, I've made some good healthy choices, I'm enjoying life and staying active. Week 3 of Maintenance looks to be turning out just as good!
