Day 4 of Rt 66 Challenge...Training to be a Bad A$$

The above picture showed up on my Facebook news feed and really struck a chord with me today. Over the last few months of training for the Route 66 Half Marathon I have had some glorious moments both on the scale and with my running. I have discovered that the more my running improves, the better I feel and the more excited I am to get out the door at 5:30 am to go for a run. Don't get me wrong, seeing the numbers on the scale go down and getting into a smaller size pants is rewarding but there is something about watching my times improve. A few years ago, I set a very lofty goal for myself; to qualify and run the Boston marathon. As I see my times go down, this goal seems to be creeping closer and closer within my reach. I am really looking forward to the Route 66 Half Marathon and am excited to see how it goes. I have been training for this race like I have never trained before!
