I became very excited yesterday when I discovered a few more little gems on SP - this website continues to amaze me, it's like a chest full of treasures and you could never uncover all of them and they just keep turning up - little gems.
I discovered I could add sections to my nutrition tracker so I have added 'Snack 2' for my afternoon snack and 'Smoothie Snack' to put these daily ingredients in and I have also added 'Beverages' for when I have something like a coconut water, chai tea, dandelion tea etc. This helps me see where my calories are really going and what meals/snacks I am consuming. I love it!
I discovered the report 'calorie differential over time'. Looking at this graph there is no doubt I will lose weight on an ongoing basis because my 'calories out' well exceed my 'calories in'. I love this graph and will be revisiting it each week. This one visual gives me much hope.
I also found the video section and completed two core and upper body strength training workouts - I have never in my life done any type of strength or resistant training, it has always been aerobic. SP teaches about the importance of building muscle and muscle metabolises more fat than fat, so it makes sense. How can I look toned (once the fat is gone) if there is no muscle. IAM146POUNDS blogged an interesting article yesterday about yo-yo dieting which adds to the motivation to gain muscle.
I have gained much inspiration about exercise from DANDELLIE. I like the way DANDELLIE has designed her exercise program, manages her time to ensure she completes them, revisits them from time to time and changes them if necessary and then constantly sets herself new challenges involving exercise and strives to achieve them. She blogs about exercise regularly and there is something about the 'consistency' and 'can do attitude' of her efforts that I admire.
So with that said I am now focusing on developing a program of my own, because up till now it has just been do as much as you can when you can, but then I had to stop because of the illness relapse. Well yesterday was a new day and I have decided to test the waters and embark again on vigorous exercise and see what my body does now. Yesterday I really stepped it up a notch and went outside my comfort zone on that treadmill and spent most of 24minutes in my fat burning zone with my heart rate above 125. It even went into the high 140's at one stage and I thought 'Great! blow those cobwebs out of those heart vessels of mine and let's get fit !!' LOL
As I was exercising I started to chant to each footstep and for some reason that 24 minute routine went really quick after that. I chanted "I am fit! I am healthy! I am slim and trim". Even when I wasn't saying it out loud I was saying it in my head so subconsciously it will work.
Hebrews 11 (KJ version)
"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen..."
Once again IAM146POUNDS gives inspiration here also as she says it as if it were so! Thank you!
All up yesterday I did 90 minutes exercise and 474 calories burned in the process! That's my biggest day yet - I pray that there are no reoccurring illness symptoms from here on in.... illness has no place in this healthy body of mine!
Because I love to take random photos here is yesterday's lunch - half a little pizza - I had some ingredients in the pantry I am eating my way through and thought about what I could do with them. The pizza base is a tortilla and the ingredients include smoked mussels, olives, feta, tomato, cheddar, garlic and pizza sauce. All up the calories came to 517 and that little pizza covered lunch plus one snack. Portion size definitely under control. I would normally have eaten at least 2-3 of those in one sitting. Amazing.
Enjoy your day today and stay healthy and safe.
