getting to know my fitbit flex

Wednesday, October 09, 2013

one of the reasons I took the plunge and got an electronic tracker was because I was frustrated by the various pedometers that had "let me down" over the years. Yes there is a large discrepancy in steps recorded between the two.
-it syncs to my fitness tracker and records my active minutes- something that I have been lax about
-it can also track my sleep, but if I am working nights and sleeping days it doesn't always accept the am/pm adjustment I input so I have had some 23 hour sleep days
-it is forcing me to be honest about how sedentary I am some days
-it is letting me see the trends and set weekly personal goals
-it can get wet- swim, shower..... I'll be pool testing it this weekkend

It is forcing me to be honest with myself about my sedentary life. food has never been an issue, getting moving has

not that long ago I blogged that I needed a nag, I've got it emoticon

I just got one a week ago. Just like you I have been disappointment by MANY pedometers.I have killed a few as well. DH bougth me the fitbit after the most recent pedometer demise. Fingers crossed.

I found it also sync with the steps program at Walgreens. I get so many points for miles I walk or run which eventually lead to $5.00 off at the store. So this is awesome!

Now I'm addicted to my walking breaks at work to rack up steps.

I have the opposite problem - I can get myself moving, but then I don't watch my portions.
I think when I have some spare cash (HA!) I'd like to get one of those pedometers... Shel

Love the Fitbit Flex and it can be submerged up to 10 meters according to the web site. I wear it in the shower, but I have not worn it swimming. Have you tried just tapping it to put it to sleep instead of entering the times? If you just lightly tap the the top of the bracelet a couple of times, it will change the display and put it into sleep mode. You do the same thing to wake it up.

I have the fitbit one, and I agree, it is kind of like a nag, well put, but I do love it, and it talks to me,
