End of Week 1 & my GO TO sweet tooth satisfiers

End of Week #1 Report: emoticon

emoticon 2.5 pounds down!!! my weekly goal is 1 pound. emoticon

I've stayed in my calorie range all week, as well as finding clever ways to incorporate my new fitness plan without putting my body out of whack. Yes, I was a bit sore, but nothing that set me back. That in itself is an accomplishment!!!!

I'm on Day 10 of the 30 Days of Fit Food Challenge. Today's article was "Pull Your Sweet Tooth!" and gave some ideas of how to keep from falling back into bad habits and moving forward by forming good ones.

For my GO TO sweet tooth satisfier, I have some favs that work for me every time.

1. I make myself sit down and eat it slowly, really savoring the flavor and texture.
(How many pounds have I put on over the years by devouring a hand full of this or that without ever tasting it?)

2. I make a pan of brownies or yummy cupcakes, portion them in individual servings (usually 100 calorie) and stick them in individual sandwich bags in the freezer so portion size is already calculated and it is easy to track.

3. Since I need extra fiber in my diet, I'll cook some prunes and stick them in a sealed jar in the frig. They are so syrupy sweet that a couple is all I need to satisfy the sweet craving.

4. For pure indulgence, I'll melt 1 ounce of semi-sweet chocolate chips in the microwave and savor each spoonful - only 70 calories!!!
For extra protein, add 1/3 serving of raw or toasted almonds - and it's still less than 200 calories.

How's your week going?
What are your fav GO TO secrets of success to satisfy your sweet tooth ?

    emoticon Great job Cathy!

What are you doing for your fitness plan? Just curious since we both have arthritis issues.

Also, when is your next acupuncture treatment? I'm going to try some massage therapy and see if that gives me any relief. Have you ever tried that?

Good luck on Week 2 emoticon

Frozen grapes and frozen cherries are two of my sweet tooth favorites. I like them because I have to eat them slowly and they are so good!

You are doing great!

    Great job, Cathy!

Sweet is not my downfall, but I pretty much eat whatever I want anyway. I find that I am satisfied with single servings now.

The sweet potato chips are really good and crunchy as well as sweet, though! Yummy! emoticon

I weigh and portion out steaks, sausage, and everything else so they are quick to grab and throw in my lunch bag for breakfast, lunch an snacks.

You are doing great-- and these tips are helpful.
I love to eat the Russell Stover sugar free candies; toffee squares, my favorite!
I need to slow down and enjoy the flavor of food, instead of "gobbling" everything at high speed! HA!
