Just Dance + TOM + P!nk!

Wednesday, October 09, 2013

My body is finally starting to look really good, and I'm attributing it to two relatively recent changes: I'm consistently staying in my calorie range and I've gotten hooked on Just Dance videos on Youtube.

I talked about my diet in my last blog, so I'm not going to really go into it here (and by "diet" I just mean the food I eat - I'm not "on a diet"). The recent change that's been most helpful is making a huge salad for taking from for the rest of the week. emoticon emoticon

You've heard of the Just Dance Wii game, right? So some awesome Youtubers have actually uploaded the routines onto Youtube. Obviously they're not interactive, but they're really fun to follow along with and they're free! Plus, I wear my heart rate monitor and apparently I burn just over 10 calories per minute. For the past couple weeks I've been dancing about 75 minutes a day because it's so fun, and burning a solid 800 calories. That's slightly more than I burn jogging, and it's a lot more fun!
I made a playlist of my favorite songs to do - it's 55 minutes and burns 600 calories for me (I'm 5'6 and 150lbs). If you like pop/rock girl power music and don't mind occasional strong language, feel free to check it out:

The next thing that's changed my life is Nature's Way raspberry leaf supplement. My period used to come every 19 days and be absolute hell. To the point where for 3 full days I couldn't even do anything but lie in bed with a heating pad (the other couple of days would be painful but more bearable). The mood swings and mental "fuzziness" made me feel like I wasn't even myself anymore. My doctor offered to prescribe prescription strength Ibuprofen, but I wanted to find a more natural option. Plus, pharmaceutical painkillers always make the mental fuzziness worse and don't really help the mood swings.
Finally, I came across some reviews talking about a raspberry leaf supplement. The women had very similar experiences to mine, and the supplement really seemed to help them. I ordered a couple of bottles (2 bottles are $14 on Amazon) and tried it this month. It literally transformed every painful part of TOM. It immediately reduced my cramps 90-100%, and I didn't take a single Ibuprofen this whole week (in the past I had to take 8+ per day just to make the pain bearable). Whenever I felt cramps starting, I took 6-10 capsules and within 3-5 minutes the cramps were gone. And for the first time ever, I felt like myself during the whole week. I didn't have any moments of brain fuzziness and my emotions felt normal! I spoke on the phone with my mom (she can always tell when I'm on my period because I get so forgetful, irritable, and tired) and she noticed a huge difference too.
The instructions actually say to take 2 capsules every day, so I'm going to try that too and see if it helps regulate my cycle overall.
For any of you who want to see the kind I got, here's the link:

And last (but most definitely not least), in a couple days I'M GOING TO SEE P!NK LIVE OMG AKFDLKJKDJFLKJ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She is my absolute favorite celebrity and favorite singer. I love her music, her voice, her honesty, and her sense of humor. I'm so insanely excited!!!!!! And I got a "general admission" ticket, which means the pit RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE STAGE!!!!! They don't let people line up until 2 hours before the show, but I'll be there 3 hours early JUST TO MAKE SURE I have the most chance of being the first in line. There is literally no other musician I would do this for, P!nk is just really special. emoticon
OMG I'M SOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!! emoticon emoticon

emoticon on the diet plan and the dancing!! P!nk is amazing and I had the amazing honour of getting to tour with her during the Funhouse Tour as a backup singer and dancer, I was supposed to be with her on this current tour but I've had some serious health issues and family tragedy that kept me from what would have been my last tour with her...I just turned 35 this past monday and my husband wasn't all that crazy of me being gone for over a year anyway...Keep up the emoticon work and emoticon on seeing the results!
