LOVELY EVENING

Wednesday, October 09, 2013

Each year the Tapestry Women's Team at our church says a special thank you for those ladies who have volunteered in any way to help the Women's Ministry. This year was no exception.
The Tapestry Team put together a lovely evening with appetizers and desserts, tea and coffee and testimonies by some of the Tapestry Team. All volunteers were given a free ticket, and those ladies who still wanted to attend but had not volunteered were charged $10.

It was a lovely evening. Most of the ladies had had their supper before they came, but with all the appetizers and desserts, veggies, fruit, etc., available, no one really needed to. The Women's Ministry Team outdid themselves. It was an amazing evening. and after the food and testimonies the volunteers were asked to stand and then the ladies handed each volunteer a book written by Kerry and Chris Shook, called Love At Last Sight, 30 Days to
Grow and Deepen Your Closest Relationships. We were not expecting that, the meal was more than enough.

On top of that, I received an extra gift. I had invited my son's former girlfriend to attend and I bought her a ticket. She and my son had been at church with me on Sunday. She told me on Sunday that she was going to paint me a picture. She gave me a lovely picture of a purple rose (my favorite color) with the leaves and stem and she wrote the verse from Isaiah 40.8 beside it. It was a lovely oil painting done on a small canvas. She told me she had painted the picture in an hour. She is going to paint me a landscape. She is a very artistic young lady.
I am going to ask her if she would be willing to paint a picture to be used in our Silent Auction at our Women's Christmas Brunch. I have to find a place to hang my picture. What a lovely start to the week after a beautiful Sunday with a visit from my son after church. God is good.

The young lady sounds really talented. Any chance DS and she can get back together again? Sounds like you had a neat church event as well. emoticon

That sounds so beautiful Darlene! Sounds like a fantastic time. What a nice evening! And what a sweet gesture on both your part (in buying your son's former girlfriend a ticket) and her part (by painting you such a nice picture)! God is Good for sure!!!
