When I started Sparkpeople I thought I knew how to count calories. I was bad wrong, counting them in your head doesn't come out right! I lost 50 lbs total and maintained until 2 years ago. I had a emotional event happen in my life and put on a few pounds more like 20!!! Then the yo-yo dieting ensued!!! I had a day off during the week and was able to watch a little Dr. Oz show. Fact is I don't really like him but like to check out what is going to be on. Well Haylie Pomroy was on there and she was talking about her book, "Fast Metabolism Diet" and it peaked my interest. Knowing that my metabolism had changed after 30 and 2nd baby I was interested in what she had to say. I called my sister, who has struggled her whole life with weight and told her about. She went out right away and bought the book. She called me 3 weeks in to it and had lost 22 lbs! I had my book, but hadn't started it yet. Well I started after that. I have lost 16 lbs and have learned so much from Haylie Pomroy. I haven't eaten corn. Corn causes belly fat! Belly fat!!! She tells you that they feed corn to cattle right before slaughter to make them plump. The white marbling in a steak that is corn!! I buy only raw and look for no nitrates! Makes a big difference. How the plan works is very simple actually. There are certain foods to eat on certain days. Day 1 and 2: grain, protein, fruit, veggie. Snack for those days is fruit. Day 3 and 4: protein and veggie (mainly green), snack on those days is protein. Day 5 - 7: all of the above plus healthy fats (nuts and oils). Snack for those days is veggie and healthy fat. The book is awesome, and the app for the phone is better! I still do sparkpeople. I love this place!!!! While I was on here this morning I saw Haylie's ad on the side and got so excited!!! I wanted to blog about it and share. If anything take a look at her book the next time you are in a book store. I have read it over 10 times. I feel like there is something new every time. This has changed my style of eating. My sister and I say that we will probably never go back to eating the foods we did before. Oh yeah, by the way I tried to eat a Oreo the other day. I got the worst stomach ache ever. My body is not used to the processed junk:) YAY!!!
