Sharpening Listening Skills

Tuesday, October 08, 2013

On our family walk tonight, my husband would tell the boys something to see if they would listen, like Simon says, but actually Daddy says. They listened for the most part, except for the last one, our youngest boy didn't listen for part of it. It made for a very hilarious, yet very productive walk. Usually the boys argue or push each other around during our walks, but tonight they were good because Daddy made it a game. I should do this more often so they actually start listening to me....

So nice, making family time a fun time. We use to enjoy going on hikes with our children, they would always collect things, leaves, rocks, etc. Was a fun time. emoticon

I remember how my mom used to play a game where she would say, "The Quaker game has now begun. No more talking, no more fun..." I don't remember the rest, but the idea is that the first one who makes talks loses the game. Clever!
