Hi. Another gorgeous day in Wisconsin. Another meeting today at lunch so I can not go walk outside :( Going out to dinner tonight (either chinese or mexican) I'm going to plan what i am eating before i go so i am not tempted to over eat. Any suggestions?

    It IS beautiful out there. Although you can't get your lunchtime walk, make plans to grab a 5 or ten minute walk out in the fresh air on breaks or before you get in the car to drive away at the end of the day. It'll do your soul good and help to strengthen the resolve to eat in your planned manner.

Like ladyspice, aiming toward the seafood options are better than other choices even at a Mexican restaurant. A lot of the places I have gone have a fish Veracruz type dish which is pretty healthy, fish and vegetables often done in a packet. For me, the killer at a Mexican spot is the chips and salsa, if you can, don't let them bring them to the table or if you can't do that because of your dining companions, take a measured portion for yourself and then push them out of your reach. Sangria is a better choice than most of the other drink options unless you order unsweetened ice tea.

    Eating out is so hard because they always seem to add things to add fat/calories that you are not aware of. I like chinese buffets because you can get the amount and combo you want for the same price, I love the steamed salmon and veggie dishes, espec just boiled cabbage and carrots and some steamed rice. Im not one to do the "cheat day" because it turns into cheat dayS...weeks and months. lol. Good Luck, Leila
