Never give up!

Tuesday, October 08, 2013

Well, here I am. Back after a long break away. I have reset my goals on Sparkpeople. I am more motivated than ever! There is nothing like bad blood test results to give a person a wake-up call. That happened to me yesterday. I got my blood work back and my liver tests were high, especially the ALT reading. Although I don't see the doctor until Thursday, I am on Zocor to lower my cholesterol and that can affect liver tests. I also drink too much and the combination of the alcohol and the Zocor is not good. It really, really scared me that I could be damaging my liver over things I can control myself. There is no reason in the world I need to be on Zocor. I can control that myself by losing 63 pounds and exercising.

So this time, with all of that as huge motivation, I plan to be fit and at my goal weight by June 1. Here's to me and my health!

Good for you, you can do this. I had some elevated lab work too and high blood pressure and decided to get myself on track. I started after Christmas and so far I am down 35 lbs. My lab work is better - triglycerides are normal and blood pressure is coming down. I also walk, run or do elliptical to the equivalent of 12,000 steps a day. I did not do this in the very beginning, but incorporated this in June. Good luck!
