Helping out and a tame Heron

Tuesday, October 08, 2013

Yesterday I was helping out a friend who 4 weeks ago had a knee op. Yesterday he was put into a brace and told that he could bend his knee. This meant that he could get in and out of a car. He called me as ask if we could go out and take some pictures. How could I turn that down.....

I pick him up and we drove to Capstone park where I saw the Grey Heron the other week. Having parked up we walked to the lake (very slowly I might add).

A Moorhen

I am not sure what some of these birds are as they are changing coats

As speed of light Coot. These birds are so fast that they walk on water.

Magpie

Not my best but the light was fading.

Then we both came across the Grey Heron and how tame he was

To show tame and how close we were

My friend was that close to him

This has the purple strip of a Mallard but is too big

As the light was going it was time to leave.

Wow, I've seen lots of herons, but they are usually very shy. Great pics!
