Pictures of the Autumn forest (Austria)

Tuesday, October 08, 2013

This Sunday, we went for a powerwalk with my wife for our daily exercise. Walking together is not so high in calories, but high in communication! :-) This is one of my favourite tracks nearby, and we just realized that the last time we had been here was during Spring, when it was still covered with snow. There were a couple of showers the days before, so everything was wet, muddy, and the air was full of moisture.

Moss carpet everywhere

Mushrooms everywhere

Abundant vegetation everywhere

Leaves were turning into yellow, white, brown

Trees start small, get big, get sliced up

Sometimes we had to get muddy to go on

I had no clue what type of mushrooms are these

Looking at the pictures, I was surprized that the colours I associate with Autumn are usually yellow and brown, but these pictures are totally green!

Do you like to walk?
What possibilities do you have for a powerwalk near you?
Next time you go, show us some pictures! :-)

These could be photos from the woods near my home, Oliver! We've also been having the mysterious, foggy, gray weather. Thanks for pointing out that there is also a lot of green there. In fact, it never stops being green here, even in the middle of winter, because the climate is so temperate. I'm not able to run these days...so walking is my exercise!

    Hi Oliver,

I do like to walk but can't walk far on my own right now so I use either a cane or walker as I have degenerative disc disease and it causes too much back pain. but I can walk further using these aids. I mainly walk on my treadmill listening to music or watching my favorite shows such as Dharma and Greg. . right now I'm rehabilitating from recent double knee surgery and I'm doing the SABF=Sit and Be Fit challenges that Lynn has set for those that have knee problems or other limitations. They really do give you a work out of your whole body without the pressure on your joints. I love the pictures you have posted. All of our Autumn colors are yellow, orange and red. We had a really cold front hit us and so we had a really early changing in the leaves and most of them are brown and dying now. . . .Congrats on getting married last April. . .Paula~

We have many walks that are good but my favorite is through the hills, down the valley, into the park and back on the roads with my husband. Great Pictures.

I just love the pictures and thank you so much for sharing. I may never get to travel the world as much as I want but photographs and books take me everywhere. We have a little cabin in the Blue Ridge mountains that we get to as often as possible and I love to hike up the mountain that continues up behind our cabin.

Thanks for sharing those beautiful photos! Am afraid I'm a right slug when it comes to walking. The only thing that would ever entice me to go out and put one foot in front of the other is if I had a cute lil' dog to accompany me and talk to. Feel so lonely walking just on my lonesome. And it's so damn slow! Can't help comparing the distances I cover on my bike! No, definitely a bikkee me, need my bum comfortably installed on a seat in order to get me to go anywhere. But boy, do I fly when I'm on me bike, there's no stopping me, I overtake everyone! And you feel the wind in your hair, and all. Just not the same walking, sorry :-)! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Right now walking is my main form of exercise, and I'm loving the New England fall weather & colors. Thank you for sharing some pictures from "Down Under". :) And I completely agree that walking with significant other may not be high is calories but high in communication!

I'm walking in Afghanistan and love the pics as we barely see anything green here; it is mostly dust, rocks and desert! There are a few plants that are surviving which reminds us of home! There's beauty in everything! We just need to stop and smell the emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
