Week of 9/29/2013
Monday: Fast Day: banana/ beef & barley vegetable soup, sourdough toast
After expecting (and experiencing) a bad weigh-in, I didn’t much feel like lovingly preparing an egg, fruit, and toast like I had planned. I brewed my second cup of coffee, grabbed a banana, and headed to work. It’s nearing noon now, and I’m taking a half-day to work on a group presentation to be recorded later this afternoon.
Tuesday Multigrain Cheerios, banana/ beef & barley vegetable soup/ turkey sandwich, grapes/ pesto pasta, salad
Two lunches. That is all.
Wednesday pb & banana toast/ leftover pesto pasta, chicken leg, apple & yogurt / scrambled eggs, portuguese sausage, papaya
Thursday Egg sandwich, grapes/ pizza, salad/ lasagne bolognese
Today Mike defends his master’s thesis, so I stayed home to help him prep and celebrate once it’s over!! For this reason, I also pushed back my fast day this week.
Friday apple, coffee/ banana/ steak, rice, and tomato salad plus pupus: poke, chips and salsa, and cocktails
Today was supposed to be a fast day, but thanks to the govt’ closure, our best friends (who were out of town for my birthday) insisted we come over today to celebrate, as they had the day off. I would never deny this couple- I adore them and miss them, and compared to the last day of fasting, this was an easy winner.
Saturday Chili omelet/ half turkey sandwich, apple/ chicken enchiladas, beans, and green salad
Sunday Eggs & bacon / Greek vegetable salad, apple/ chili & rice
I’m a quitter, I admit it! I came so close, but felt too out of steam (inspiration, really) to fast another day. It was a hard week all around, but I’m feeling better this Monday. Back to following the Spark plan I know and love- eat between 1200-1500 cals, move my butt for an hour a few days a week. I’m glad I tried this FastDiet, but honestly glad to be done! Mahalo to my new Spark friends who helped me through the last three weeks.
