Daily Healthy Choices

Monday, October 07, 2013

Sunday I took a rest day.

Today I was a little frustrated when I weighed -- I was up again. It seems like I am going the wrong way! So, I decided that this week I was going to just have Atkins shakes for lunch to try and jumpstart a weight loss. Therefore, my calorie range will be lower for the week.

My daycare kids were picked up early, so I headed to the gym and did 30 min on the stationary bike, then 30 min strength routine. I also had done a couple of SP videos and worked on the 30 min the elliptical this morning. I am going to try to up my exercise too.

Made to Crave Devotional quote...
"The hard reality is, there is no magic pill and there are no quick fixes."
"The Navy Seals have a saying, 'The more you sweat in training, the less you bleed in war.' This statement motivates me on many levels, but I especially like how it speaks to the necessity of making healthy choices every day. What you do today matters. If you train well today, you are paving the road to victory in the battle."

Great going - sounds like you had a really productive day. I love the quotes too - there are no quick fixes which is why slow and steady often wins the race.

Reading the Bible slowly is a good idea. Some day I'm going to just read Psalms and Proverbs in a whole year.

I'm sorry your weight is going to wrong way. Mine has been doing the same, though I can trick myself into a good weigh in just by either skipping supper or having something very minimal. My eating late is just a pattern going along with lack of sleep, the area I'm focussing on right now. You're further down the road than I am.

Hope you share a picture of your nine-patch!

Sounds like a very productive day! I like that quote from the Seals, too. I hope the steps you are taking jump-start the weight loss. Sometimes it just happens that we go up, but we may go down just as mysteriously! Hang in there.
