I haven't blogged in almost two weeks. I haven't been super busy, so I'm really not sure why I forgot about it! BUT.
I am doing FANTASTIC.
I've been to the gym for at least an hour a day, five days a week, for the last THREE weeks! On the weekends, I actually MISS the gym. Crazy, right?!
I've been learning more about nutrition and fitness, too. I haven't been trying as many new recipes as I was in the beginning, but I'm still eating much healthier. To take care of my cravings for chocolate, I eat half a serving of dark chocolate and it helps. My mom and I are figuring out a lot of little tips and tricks like that.
Tonight, I really wanted Chinese. I was already at the grocery, so I picked up some stir fry seasoning mix and lite soy sauce. I already had the veggies and some pre-cooked grilled chicken. I threw it all together, not expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised. It tasted AMAZING. And I even had a Chinese food container to put it in! It only ran me about 220 calories. Plus I have four more servings.
I can't believe phase 1 is almost over. It's actually gone by pretty fast. I get to weigh on Friday (notice I said GET to, not HAVE to!). It'll be the first time since day zero. Sometimes, I think I can see small differences in my body, but a lot of times, my mind tells me that I'm getting nowhere and I'm going to be disappointed. That's something else that I'm working on. Hopefully a difference on the scale will help me prove my mind wrong. I'm hoping for at least 5 pounds (I don't want to shoot too high and be disappointed). So if I step on that scale on Friday and am down to 273, phase 1 will be counted a success.
For phase 2, I'm going to start counting calories (and carbs, sugar, etc.) and a little bit of weight training. Everything else will continue as it did in phase 1. Sometimes I'm excited about this, but sometimes I feel like I'm already failing.
Luckily, I have my mom to keep encouraging me (sometimes constantly).
This is getting easier.
