Friday, I carried Danny to the doctor. He's had problems with his foot for 3 or 4 months or longer so he finally went. He has Plantar Fasciitis. So he got a Cortizone shot and now he's doing foot exercises, and wearing a special boot at night. Then we just piddled around town shopping a while. Looking for a quilt at Penny's and Bed, Bath, & Beyond and then deciding to just keep what I have. They don't make quilts for warmth anymore unless you want to pay $250+, so I'll just keep my comforter and if it gets cold, I'll just use it. Then we went to the Academy and bought Danny some shoe supports. While I was there, I looked for some cute Crocs I had seen online, but they didn't have them, so I'll just order online. They were some really cute ballerina Crocs.
Saturday was our Octoberfest. For such a small town, they put on a fantastic festival. We always have a nice parade, big crowds, nice vending booths, good food, a small carnival, cake walk, music show, comedy, chili cookoff, critter contest, face painting, just lots and lots of fun things to do. We didn't see half of it but I know what all they do to make it all a success. Afterwards, we went home for the rest of the day. Katie, 10 yrs old, and Reni about 18 mos came over and we went outside and hoola hooped. You should have seen Reni try to hoop. Man, I should have got my iphone out for pics. I forget about that sometimes. It would have make a cute pic.
Sunday. I was a bit down for reasons I can't put on here, so I just sat at home a little sad (hurt) and watched TV all afternoon. (I do that alot on Sunday afternoons anyway.) But by Monday, I was pretty much over it. I guess we all have days like that. Just have to move on and make the best of the situation. Step back and analyze it for what it is and then move on.
I took off today and really enjoyed being off. He-He - practicing retirement! I took my time this morning doing just what I wanted to do. Watching the Today Show; and Kelly and Michael; working out with Denise Austin. I sure needed that. My joints were getting creaky and just doing that today seemed to help me a whole lot. I'm a believer in exercise and how important it is. I just still need to increase it more in time and effort. Then got dressed and went to McDonald's for lunch. We both had a Classic Grilled Chicken Sandwich; no fries, no extra salt, and a Coke. We went to Walmart from there and bought some ingredients for a healthy salad for dinner tonight - Salmon, Romain lettuce, Strawberries, Grapes, with Light Viniagrette. We added the optional shredded cheese, and chopped pecans. It was pretty good - and good for you. Later on, we took off in the truck, cruising around local country roads. I had my camera looking for something interesting to shoot. We saw a friend out mowing and so we stopped because I wanted a picture of an old antique gate and so he stopped and talked to us for a while & I got some shots of him and the old gate. Just a nice afternoon, riding around and seeing what we could find.
Now just sitting here for the rest of the night and watching the tube. Back to work bright and early in the morning.
