Happy Monday!! I found my old blog which was my 5% weight loss commitment from Winter 2012-2013! I looked up my last 5% challenge blog to see how much I have continued to do, and I also wanted to see what I still need to work on. Some things that used to be difficult in the past are now part of my daily routine. I can say no to butter and red meat as if I always said no to it - but it is still extremely difficult to say No to french fries and tortilla chips.
So much has changed in my daily life, and I really want to get to my healthy weight goal. Maintaining under 165 is OK but it isn't want I want. Some days I am 158 and other days I am 164. I really want to maintain UNDER 155! It isn't fun not being able to wear certain pairs of pants now because I gained 4 pounds in 2 days somehow! When I was really overweight, my pants didn't really get tight. They were always extra baggy so I didn't really notice how they were fitting. Now, my pants get snug when I gain 2 pounds, and I feel uncomfortable wearing them!
Besides trying to be the best team member I can be, I also want to make sure I am making healthy decisions for myself. I want to give up french fries & tortilla chips. Also, I would like to watch my snacking in general. I am still making Spark versions of recipes, which is great! I love cooking new things (especially when they are a healthier version). I LOVE to eat, eat, eat! So having healthier food makes me feel better. Even though I have lost a lot of weight, it is still hard for me to eat smaller portions.
My weight right now is 162. I would need to lose 8.1 pounds to get 5% weight loss. That would be 154 pounds!! I want to say "I WILL DO IT" but it has been almost a year since I have been trying to get that goal. Maybe I will do it this challenge - but if I Don't, I won't give up! Every day, every step, and every moment counts!
Fall 5% Challenge Commitment:
I will give up eating french fries for 8 weeks.
I will give up eating tortilla chips for 8 weeks.
I will continue giving up dairy for 8 weeks to see if my stomach issues clear up.
I will post my weigh-ins every week.
I will track my exercise to help out myself and my team!
I will stay on track with my calories/fat/etc the best I can.
I will try to post more frequently on the forum/team!
I will exercise at least 10 minutes seven days a week.
I will exercise at least 45 minutes three days a week.
I will stick to my scheduled exercise - Cardio Kickboxing, Pilates or Spin, 5K training
I will try new recipes from Spark & will create more batch meals for work
I will try to work on controlling my snacking at night - no snacks after 8pm
I will go to bed on nights when I feel tired/ready. I won't stay up late just because.
I will spend some ME time even with my crazy schedule!
I will do the best I can with the changing weekly challenges!
I will not get discouraged if I do not meet the 5% loss in 8 weeks.
